"Stonehenge is located on the Salisbury Plain in England. It was built more than 4,000 years ago. It is one of the famous ancient structures in Europe. It is constructed from huge stones arranged in a circle 30meters in diameter. Many pairs of vertical stones are joined by one horizontal stone balanced on top. Each stone weighs about 50 tons. In the middle of the circle there are 5 stone domes arranged in the shape of a horseshoe. Smooth, round stones encircle the 5 domes, like stars around a crescent moon. They were used to survey the cosmos. This proves advanced astronomical knowledge existed in this ancient culture. 1993."
